Running away
This is a song about an individual expressing a cry for help. He wants to run away and escape his mental state: escape from what he is at the moment, his disturbed state of mind, and be someone else.
I thought a Country Blues treatment would work well as the framework for the song. The underlying “easy listening” of Country Blues allows to get some strong messages to cut through and hopefully surprise. And using instruments like the Dobra (slide)is to create piercing phrases act as a metaphor to express the cry for help.
